On Tuesday I had the pleasure of teaching a Professional Photographers of America Super One Day class.  It was a small class but we accomplished big things!  We spent the morning discussing all things banner related and then our cross country model swung by during his lunch period so we could set up a creative shot of him.  After a satisfying lunch at the famous Green Pickle in Glen Rose we spent the rest of the afternoon on Zach's banner design.  I hadn't done a cross country Sportrait before and I LOVE how it turned out!

I absolutely love doing these "sportraits"!  I'm sad that I was too busy to make this more available to All Star and Select baseball teams this season.  Check out this 7 year old catcher!!  

Would you think it was strange if I told you I am paying another company to design a logo for me? I mean I'm basically a graphic designer myself. I incorporate graphics into my photography all the time. And yes, until now I have designed my own logos.

Well as a photographer and artist I know full well the difference between being ABLE to do something and specializing in something. For example, one of my specialties is sportrait banner design. People tell me all the time how amazing my banners are and I believe it is because of my special skill set in lighting and putting together designs that compliment the subject. My training is in making the subject look great. I've spent years perfecting this skill.

I have not however, spent years studying logos and how to design them. In fact if you hired me to design your logo I probably wouldn't feel like I should charge you very much and you would get what you pay for if you know what I mean ;). I am learning that there are so many things to think about for a logo. Like how will it look on a sign? How will it look on a package? How will it look on my portraits versus my edgier team banners? Will it fit both styles? What does it communicate - corporate or specialty, feminine or masculine, old school or contemporary, cheap or expensive, fun or stuffy, and on and on. Who is its target audience? Does it fit my personality or the personality of my business?

I used to think saving money was king, cheap was great and DIY was smart. Over the years I've learned that cheap can cost more in the long run. I'm sure you can think of examples. So these days I often don't mind paying more to get more and more doesn't have to mean quantity, it can just mean quality too.

Morgan is a four letter athelete involved in Church Youth Group,  Soccer (Indoor & Outdoor),  Cheer,  Volleyball,  Basketball,  Track and  FFA

She is an  A/B Honor Roll student and a 2015 Somerville County FFA Grand Champion in Ewe Breeding.  She has not only received the MVP award in Track but she also received the Peter Pan Award from Cook Children's Hospital.

This Star earns firecracker status too as she is known for her crazy, charming, independent, enthusiastic and trustworthy personality!

Her hobbies include reading, 3D archery, hunting, bow-fishing and camping.

She is a busy volunteer giving her time to things like Church Camp & VBS,  Shriner’s Hospital, Cook Children’s Hospital,  Intramural coaching for elementary soccer and  Intramural coaching for church basketball. 

Morgan is an all-round talented student and athlete with a variety of interests that cause her to shine as a Christian, tomboy, teammate, and definitely a lady.

With her talents, competitive nature and willingness to excel she succeeds in all.  However, what really sets Morgan apart is her love of nature and conservation.  She loves to camp and hunt and is skilled with handguns, rifles, compound bows for hunting and fishing and a cross bow as well.  Yep, firecracker status for this Star! ;)
